She/Her/Hers
Meilani is a fifth-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Brigham Young University. Prior to her time at BYU, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. Originally from the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, she draws strength and inspiration from her cultural roots. As a proud woman of Samoan descent, Meilani is deeply committed to serving Pasifika communities along with all people of color through culturally attuned, affirming care.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in a client-centered focus with a trauma-informed lens. Meilani also draws on techniques from evidence-based practices such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with specialized interests in generational trauma, abuse, multicultural issues, anxiety, perfectionism, and depression. Meilani believes in the healing power of authentic connection and strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Meilani is excited to join the Ola Pono family and is looking forward to walking alongside her clients as they navigate their personal journeys towards meaningful healing and growth.
